Acting Locally

In addition to providing program support and clinician placements in our partnering schools, Pediatric Therapeutic Services (PTS) strives to engage with the communities we serve in other ways, too. We make commitments to local organizations, regularly participate in events that serve the greater good, and participate in organizational giving.

We do this because we know that as we act locally, we’re always impacting the world and the future of students more broadly. Learn more about PTS’s commitment to acting locally every day!

The Life After Trauma Organization (LATO) Outreach Contest

In June 2017, PTS co-founders Diana Fongheiser and Pam Hackett were honored to sponsor LATO’s teen outreach contest. At the event, PTS awarded $5,000 in prize money to the school teams who developed the most impactful Public Service Announcement.

During her visits, Pam sought to maximize improvements by finding ways to provide “therapy without a therapist.” To begin, she focused on incorporated hand-strengthening activities at the classroom level. Then, while accounting for budgetary and resource constraints, the PTS team developed training programs and resources for the teachers.

PTS continues to partner with and provide BGSS with both clinical resources and financial support.

Act Locally, Engage with PTS

At PTS, we aim to make the biggest difference in the lives of the students, schools, and communities we serve. Whether we are forging a new partnership with a district, supporting an affiliate organization, attending an event, or contributing resources, we continue to show up.
