DOCUMENT TRANSLATION SERVICES
Under Title VI and the Equal Educational Opportunities Act (EEOA), state educational agencies and school districts have independent responsibilities to provide limited English proficient parents/legal guardians of children with disabilities meaningful access through timely and complete translation and oral interpretation.
The requirement to translate Special Education-related documents to the language spoken at home, has been a challenge for many school districts, especially those with a high population of immigrants. In addition, traditional translation companies do not have the resources to translate clinical language accurately into family-friendly terminology.
To help fill this gap, PTS is now offering document translation services. By providing translators with access to clinical vocabulary and special education-specific language, we ensure that your entire IEP team, including parents/legal guardians, can get a clear picture of students’ needs and goals.
