PTS’s Approach to School-Based Behavioral Health Services
Not every student displaying problematic behaviors requires a Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA). At PTS, we use a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) approach that begins with Tier 1 interventions to address behavioral issues at the classroom level. Both teachers and paraprofessionals can run these easy-to-lead interventions that help more students in the least restrictive environment.
On top of that, the MTSS approach helps to keep caseloads more manageable for therapists by ensuring only the students who truly need to be there are placed on caseload.
Unique Benefits of Working as a BCBA with PTS
When you join our team, you will have the option to attend our School Based Academy onboarding experience that offers extra support for new BCBAs navigating a school-based environment for the first time. We also offer available Team Tuesdays and networking events.
PTS’s independent contractors can easily connect with fellow BCBAs and take advantage of available ongoing career development opportunities. Our therapists work as part of an interdisciplinary team that takes a Whole Child Approach.
To set you up for even greater success, we have a library of resources that include evaluation materials and testing and assessment tools, as well as therapist-designed interventions that you can access as needed to fulfill your role as a BCBA.
