The Therapeutic EcoSystem™ is a smarter approach to related services that combines the right team, tools, and technology to help you stay cost-effective without sacrificing quality of services.
When utilized within an integrated framework, these three interdependent components allow your school to implement a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) approach in a way that maximizes supports for all students while also controlling therapy costs and caseloads.
For more than two decades, Pediatric Therapeutic Services (PTS) has worked with special education teams at schools and in early intervention programs. In that time, we’ve noticed that many districts had the same concerns:
- Growing special education caseloads
- A desire to serve the increasingly complex needs of all students
- Increasing special education costs
The Therapeutic EcoSystem™ is our solution to meeting all these seemingly competing priorities without creating increased workloads for school therapists, teachers, or administrators.
With close support from PTS, you can bring the Therapeutic EcoSystem™ to your district and implement the right team, tools, and technology to improve your special education program across the board. Find out how it works below.
First, the Therapeutic EcoSystem™ makes sure that you have a team of highly qualified therapists in place. We select these therapists based on the unique needs of your specific student population.
In addition to providing our partnering schools with a team of qualified therapists who are dedicated to supporting the complex needs of your students, we offer ongoing support from PTS’s Clinical Directors.
As an extension of your related services program, our Clinical Directors provide continued program monitoring and support so that you can focus on the big picture and leave the day-to-day details up to us.
We provide our partnering schools with a toolkit of therapist-developed resources, games, and activities that can be seamlessly incorporated into the classroom to support all students—even those who aren’t on caseload. Some that you can access through our Capable Classroom™ include:
- Pencil Power™: A program to help first and second graders strengthen their fine motor, visual motor, and handwriting skills. It’s a 6-week program that allows you to see fast results without therapist intervention.
- Artic Blast™: A fast-moving, fun, exciting board game that allows elementary school students to practice articulation skills. Students will race to the top of the mountain by correctly identifying and articulating the words on each card.
Other engaging card games we’ve created to be used at the classroom level include Power Moves and I Know What to Do!
Additionally, we provide free in-service trainings to our partnering schools. This empowers teachers and paraprofessionals to implement key therapy strategies and Tier 1 interventions into the classroom. By introducing these supports at the general education level, we’re able to help your teachers create an inclusive classroom environment while ensuring that only the students who truly need it are referred to related services.
Technology is the final component of our Therapeutic EcoSystem™. This includes our proprietary BudgetWatch™ data-tracking software. It allows you to make decisions based on data-driven insights, assess progress, and make real-time adjustments as needed using performance metrics.
Our Clinical Directors will collect and analyze this data for you in our Program Summary Reports to help you ensure you’re using all resources as effectively as possible.
