On of the most common requests for training that we hear from teachers is on behavior management. With so many students in your classroom, it sometimes only takes one to get the whole classroom off track. And when are so you are focused on managing behaviors, it can be hard to be effective as an instructor. One of the first principals of behavior management is that the we can’t control the behavior of others, but we can control our response and what the consequence is to someone’s behavior. We also know that positive reinforcement is far more powerful at changing behavior over the long term than punishment.
